Yeah but legalizing marijuana is not going to get us out of debt.
No because like the lottery the money would go to other things and not the debt.
I would legalize it, getting out of debt would be a bonus.
I would legalize it because it has become like prohibition, so few think it should be illegal, it’s being illegal only strengthens cartels and causes unreasonable costs for incarceration.
I don’t think it will do much about debt except reduce costs relating to cartels and jails, because I think people would mostly grow their own.
Legalizing marijuana will solve California’s debt crisis. This is a fact. The research has been done, the analysts called in. Nobody remotely educated in the subject can doubt this. It is more or less a done deal: if Marijuana is legalized, the budget crisis in California (which is quite frankly one of the worst in the entire Union of not THE worst) would vanish. Not overnight, of course. But it’s as good as gone.
Heavily taxing marijuana. Stopping spending on enforcement of victimless crimes. Destroying an entire underground market. Anyone who argues that legalizing marijuana would not bring us out of debt is speaking out of ignorance.
I would go back in debt buying that stuff.
